200 Club of Morris County
February 10, 2020
Seniors who should apply: have a parent actively serving Morris County in a law enforcement/public safety capacity, or whose parent has retired and has satisfied their agency’s retirement eligibility requirements, or are themselves in one of the following branches of law enforcement or public safety: Police and Law Enforcement, including Federal and State agencies, Fire Department (including volunteer fire fighters), Volunteer Ambulance Corps/First Aid Squads, Eligibility is limited to the children of law enforcement and public safety personnel or high school seniors engaged in the branches reflected above. State Police eligibility is restricted to those who live or have their primary assignment in Morris County. Children of personnel working in clerical or other non-related public safety duties are not eligible. Likewise, children of members of The Two Hundred Club of Morris County are not eligible. American Legion Children of Warriors National Presidents' Scholarship
February 19, 2018
Seniors who are the daughter, son, grandson, granddaughter, great-granddaughter, or great-grandsons of a veteran who served in the Armed Forces during eligibility dates (listed on the application) should apply. Must plan to attend an accredited institution of higher education this fall. Must also have completed 50 hours of volunteer service within the community during his/her high school years. Hours must be verified in writing by the recipient organization(s). 4 letters of rec., essay, letter proving service hours, transcript, test scores, copy of FAFSA, and a brief statement of Veteran's service or honorable discharge papers required.

American Legion Department of New Jersey Scholarship

Chinese American Citizens Alliance Essay Contest

Connections for the Future Scholarship
February 18, 2019
Seniors receiving special education and/or related services through an IEP or 504 plan in any placement should apply. The student (or designee) must demonstrate that the funds will be used to pursue post-secondary education, internships, or apprenticeship opportunities, including but not limited to special training programs for the pursuit of vocational opportunities, or continuing education. Examples of such programs are art, recreation, film or music programs, 2- or 4-year college courses, trade and vocational schools, physical education programs, or adult day programs. Funds may be used to pay for related transportation costs. The student (or designee) must demonstrate acceptance into a post-secondary program or a commitment for participation in an internship, externship or mentor arrangement, if applicable. The student (or designee) must demonstrate that consideration was given to any disability related accommodations, supports or services needed to be successful in the pursuit of his/her post-secondary goal, and describe how those support needs will be met. Students must have at least two letters of recommendation, one of which is from a teacher or principal.

Five Pearls Book Scholarship Award

The Five Pearls Book scholarship is geared towards young ladies who identify as a woman of color and/or belong to a minority group. We are seeking students who have demonstrated exceptional merit and leadership skills. The finalist needs to demonstrate a commitment to service to their community and have a proven record of academic success. Frank Baldachino Essay Scholarship Award

Junior League of Morristown Scholarship
January 17, 2019
Seniors who will be attending an accredited college, university or trade school should apply. The children of JLM members are not eligible. Applicants will be judged primarily for demonstrated commitment to voluntarism and community service. Secondary criteria are strong leadership skills, academic performance, participation in extracurricular activities, and work or family responsibilities. Financial need is not considered. Official high school transcript (sent directly from school), letter of recommendation from your high school guidance counselor or teacher, letter of recommendation from someone who is knowledgeable about your volunteer activities, and any additional supportive information that you wish to share required.

New Jersey Hall of Fame Arete Scholarship

All Seniors may apply. Arête is a concept that Plato, Socrates, and Aristotle referred to more than 3,000 years ago that refers to the act of actualizing one’s highest sense of self with a moral excellence of character. The term Arête essentially means that the individual should strive to pursue their passions in life, and realize their dreams regardless of their circumstances or the adversities that they are likely to face on the path to greatness. The successful applicants will embody the meaning of Arête and will distinguish themselves as New Jerseyans who are on their way to realizing their dreams. The NJHOF Arête Scholarship Award will be one of the highest honors that the NJHOF & the State of N.J. can bestow upon a student, and each student will be recognized at the NJHOF’s annual induction ceremony!
The recipients of the Arête scholarship are young people who demonstrate that sense of Jersey pride and that willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty. The successful applicants must demonstrate qualities such as academic engagement, moral character, and a commitment to their community. These recipients do not necessarily have to be at the very top of their school class from an academic standpoint, but should demonstrate a focus in school and life, and have a well thought out plan on how they intend to realize their highest sense of self: their Arête. National Kitchen and Bath Association Bill Farnan Scholarship

Seniors who plan to attend college, professional, technical, vocational, or business school that will result in enhancing recipient's marketability in the design (interior design, kitchen design, bath design, architecture, careers involving drafting, cabinet making, CAD, etc.) community should apply. NJACAC Scholarship

NJPSA Student Leadership Scholarship

Seniors who have demonstrated leadership during participation in co-curricular activities other than athletics should apply. A one-page essay on the topic "My School Leadership Role", resume indicating leadership positions held and contributions to MK while in these roles, and a letter of recommendation from an activity adviser required required. A selection committee will then choose 1 senior to move on to the state level scholarship competition. Only our school winner will ask Mr. MacNaughton for a letter of recommendation. Please adhere to the Feb. 28th deadline to be considered.

Species on the Edge 2.0 Social Media Contest

All seniors should apply. Students will create their own original content (for example: video, text, photograph, computer graphic) or utilize existing Conserve Wildlife Foundation content to create a series of posts focusing on one of New Jersey’s vulnerable species that CWF helps protect. All posts in the series must focus on a single species listed and share facts and information about that species, its habitat, life cycle, reason for decline in numbers and/or actions that can help protect the it. Chinese American Citizens Alliance 2017 National Essay Contest

All seniors may register - Participants are given either 90 minutes (laptop users) or 2 hours (Blue Book users) to compose an essay in English not to exceed 500 words on a contemporary topic concerning the Chinese and Asian American communities. The essay topic is given at the time of the contest. Participants will have the opportunity to bring and use their laptop computer to compose their essay. All other participants will be given a Blue Book and pen to compose their essay. This year's contest will be held Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 10am. Students must register by February 27, 2017.

Janet Logan Daily Foundation Scholarship

Seniors enrolling full-time in an accredited university or college within the United States are eligible. Morris County Psychological Association Award

Seniors who are taking classes related to the behavioral sciences, including psychology, human and/or animal behavior, child development, sociology, etc. should apply. Formats of work to be submitted can include term research papers, extended essays, or empirical research studies which were completed as part of the students’ course work. Entries will be judged at a level appropriate to the knowledge and skills of high school students, with judging criteria to include: Relevance to the discipline of the behavioral sciences, Awareness of social, cultural and ethical issues in the behavioral sciences, Awareness of theoretical and methodological issues in the study of behavioral science, Citation of relevant references to scientific publications and public media, Clarity of written expression, Originality of the study.
